Post-Concussion Syndrome

Post-concussion syndrome refers to the lingering symptoms experienced following a concussion. Symptoms of PCS may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, vision and/or balance problems, irritability, and problems with concentration and memory. While post-concussion syndrome is difficult to diagnose, those suffering from the effects understand how frustrating it can be to find relief.

The human head can weigh between 10-12 pounds, but it is held up by a single vertebra, the Atlas, that weighs only 2 ounces. The drastic difference in weight and size creates an inherent instability. While wonderfully engineered by nature, this region of the spine is precariously built and it is susceptible to structural damage when an injury big enough to cause a concussion occur.
